Fall 2026
EMDR Consultation Groups

Schedule: Three 2-hour Group Consultation meetings, approximately once per month, beginning in August and September

Dates & Times: Groups will be determined and assigned based on expressed interest

Group Size: Minimum of 3 clinicians; maximum of 6 clinicians.

Curriculum:

OPTION 1: EMDR AND NARCISSISTIC ABUSE: Foundations of Assessment and Preparation

Preparing Narcissistic Abuse Survivors for EMDR Reprocessing

Preparing Narcissistic Abuse Survivors for EMDR Reprocessing is a required companion course for participation in this consultation series. Consultees will independently progress through the training throughout the duration of the group.

This foundational consultation series is designed to support clinicians in understanding and applying Phase 1 and Phase 2 EMDR concepts when working with survivors of narcissistic abuse, coercive control, attachment disruption, and antagonistic relational stress.

Group consultation meetings will focus on:

  • Assessment and case conceptualization

  • Identifying coercive control and relational patterns

  • Readiness for EMDR reprocessing

  • Psychoeducation and adaptive information building

  • Cognitive dissonance and survival adaptations

  • Early target development and sequencing considerations

  • Clinical pacing, safety, and treatment planning

Consultees are expected to complete training modules according to the outlined schedule in order to support active discussion, clinical integration, and case application throughout the consultation process.

This group is ideal for clinicians seeking increased confidence and structure when preparing survivors of narcissistic abuse for EMDR therapy and working with complex relational trauma presentations.

OPTION 2: EMDR CERTIFICATION SERIES: COMPLEX TRAUMA AND NARCISSISTIC ABUSE

Decoding Complex Developmental Trauma Part 1 + Preparing Narcissistic Abuse Survivors for EMDR Reprocessing

Precision EMDR Decoding Complex Developmental Trauma using EMDR Therapy (Part 1) and Preparing Narcissistic Abuse Survivors for EMDR Reprocessing are required companion courses for participation in this consultation series. Consultees will independently progress through both trainings throughout the duration of the consultation group.

This consultation series is designed to support clinicians in the clinical application and integration of course concepts within EMDR therapy sessions, with a particular focus on narcissistic abuse, coercive control, attachment disruption, dissociation, and complex developmental trauma presentations.

Group consultation meetings will focus on:

  • Case conceptualization

  • Readiness for reprocessing

  • Target sequencing

  • Attachment-informed EMDR preparation

  • Dissociation and protective strategies

  • Clinical pacing and stabilization

  • Cognitive dissonance and relational dynamics

  • Common treatment barriers and pitfalls

Consultees are expected to complete training modules according to the outlined schedule in order to support active discussion, case application, and integration throughout the series.

This group is ideal for clinicians seeking deeper clinical understanding and practical implementation of EMDR with complex relational trauma populations.

OPTION 3: ADVANCED CERTIFICATION IN EMDR, COMPLEX TRAUMA, AND NARCISSISTIC ABUSE

Featuring Decoding Complex Developmental Trauma Part 1 & 2 + Preparing Narcissistic Abuse Survivors for EMDR Reprocessing

Precision EMDR Decoding Complex Developmental Trauma using EMDR Therapy (Part 1 & 2) and Preparing Narcissistic Abuse Survivors for EMDR Reprocessing are required companion courses for participation in this advanced consultation and certification series. Consultees will independently progress through the training material throughout the duration of the cohort.

This advanced consultation series is designed to support clinicians in integrating complex developmental trauma frameworks into EMDR case conceptualization and treatment planning, with additional emphasis on narcissistic abuse, coercive control dynamics, dissociation, attachment injury, developmental disruptions across the lifespan, and reprocessing readiness with antagonistic relational stress presentations.

Consultation meetings will focus on:

  • Advanced EMDR case conceptualization

  • Developmental and attachment-informed target sequencing

  • Narcissistic abuse and coercive control presentations

  • Dissociation, protective systems, and blocked processing

  • Clinical readiness and pacing

  • Resource contamination and destabilization

  • Interweave development and treatment troubleshooting

  • Ethical, systemic, and documentation considerations

  • Integrating psychoeducation into EMDR preparation phases

Consultees are expected to complete training modules according to the outlined schedule in order to support active clinical discussion, application, and integration throughout the consultation process.

This cohort is intended for clinicians seeking advanced competency and specialization in EMDR therapy with complex trauma and antagonistic relational stress presentations.

For EMDRIA Certification: 10 hours of Group Consultation will count toward the EMDRIA Certification Consultation requirement for those pursuing this credential. However, this group is open to clinicians who want to deepen their learning, but aren't yet sure about pursuing EMDRIA certification. A letter verifying attendance will be provided to those who complete the Group Consultation.

Fee: $75/hr, totaling $450 for the 6 hours.

Payment: A credit or debit card will be kept on file, and the fee will be charged on the day of each group meeting.

To Register: Complete the Interest Survey, and Candace will confirm your enrollment with you directly.

Note: If you are interested in joining Group Consultation with Candace, but these specific dates/times do not work for you, please email Candace at Candace@cdcounseling.org so she can keep you posted on other offerings.

Individual Consultation:

Scheduling: Individual consultation appointments are scheduled based on mutual availability and can be arranged via email at Candace@cdcounseling.org. Individual Consultation can be scheduled in 1- or 2-hour sessions.

Fee: $190/hr

Payment: A credit or debit card will be kept on file, and the fee will be charged on the day of the appointment.

For EMDRIA Certification Letter, work samples/demonstration of mastery of all 8 Phases and 3 Prongs of the standard EMDR protocol, and evidence of correcting any concerns.

Candace is also available for individual consultation for clinicians who want to deepen their learning, but aren't yet sure about pursuing EMDRIA certification.
